Mob Amputation

Inspired by the Mob Dismemberment mod.


Works on:

  • Zombie Pigmen (with blood!)
  • Zombies (with blood!)
  • Skeletons
This mod pre-1.6 is completely Clientside. It will now work on servers in 1.6 and later.



  • Tools will have a random chance of amputating limbs of mobs. Swords and axes being the highest, followed by pickaxes, arrows and fishing hooks, and finally spades.
  • Can be configured to allow 100% success in amputation with any item (Like in the video)
  • Works only on Skeletons, Zombies and Zombie Pigmen.
  • Headless mobs will eventually die after a brief moment. (Can be toggled)
  • Skeleton’s attacking behaviour changes when its bow arm is cut off! ([Pre 1.6] This is disabled in SMP)
  • (Pre 1.6)Gibs can be punched. Perfect for entertainment purposes.
  • Works on SMP too!

Known issues

  • Conflict with Improved First Person mod. Disable easterEgg in the config to fix.

Modders (Pre-1.6)

  • If your item does not extend ItemSword/Pickaxe/Axe/Spade, feel free to add it to the custom list for the mod. Simply execute this function once. Note that it is a probability from 0 to 1, in doubles. You can also add vanilla items, but it will override the defaults.
    Also add your own entities for gibbing chance.

    Is there any way to disable the blood of enemies in itself? I just don’t really like blood…

          my mod is not working. I just updated minecraft to 1.5.2 and it takes forever to load I left for an hour and it still was loading don’t no whats wrong? help me please

            There is probably an error, check the logs.
            For forge it’s a file called ForgeModLoader-client-0.log, open it in Notepad, Wordpad, or any other program that handles plain text.

      I found a bug/issue
      Its not important but its a detail i thought should be fixed
      I was on my server and i was testing your mod and a took off a baby zombies arm and the arm on the ground was the size as a normal zombies arm
      and when you kill midgets they don’t have dieing animations (when they turn red and fall) or body’s left over (I know it isnt set to that yet)
      all you can do is take limbs off them and there regular sized

        found an issue. has bug/conflict with smart movement mod.
        body wont turn, nor will any of the player animations show.

          Only use PlayerAPI, not RenderPlayerAPI, or disable “easteregg” (set 1 to 0) in the config.
